Bruce Barker mourns the death of his wife

I'm sad to report to all Bruce Barker fans that his wife Kathleen died suddenly at home on Wednesday, April 25th. She was only 42.

I have expressed my condolences to Bruce, his family, Katheen's family and all who knew and loved Kathleen on your behalf.

I don't know when Bruce will be back. As you can imagine he needs time to mourn and heal. Feel free to leave your comments and words of support for Bruce below.

Bruce Barker Play by Play Tips

Hockey play by play tip

Here's something I hear a lot of times that really gets on my nerves when it comes to hockey play by play.

A hockey broadcast that is simply a lot of screaming into the microphone. In fact, I never could figure out if the home team scored as the play by play guy uses the same scream on every goal call.

Sue you get paid by the team you call the game for but to make the other teams goal sound like the Stanley Cup game winner in overtime. Come on give me a break.

You do not have to scream into the mic that there was a goal, especially for the team who your team is playing AGAINST.

Use a different call for the other team will ya ... thanks!!!!
